KAZAKHSTAN What new trends do you notice in the industry? Tansel Tercan: Consumer requirements continue to change. Globally travel trends point to greater demand for more individual and authentic travel experiences; reliance more than ever on technology to plan, buy and review products and services; greater empowerment of women and implementation of wellness concepts. Do you en joy working in Astana? What factors attracts to urists here? Tansel Tercan: This city is aesthetically combined with the old and traditional architecture along with the modern buildings. Our guests mostly prefer fine dining, good taste and good service. As for the other business, a lot of meetings and conference events took place at Rixos. Subsequently, the city of Astana is going on to become one of the biggest business centers in the world. The new financial center is coming soon here whichmeans that Astana will seemore international investors coming in the future. According to some experts, the leisure tourism is only possible, is hotels have a high level of occupancy all year around. How to maintain that in Kazakhstan? Tansel Tercan: A tourist attraction is a place of interest where tourists visit, typically for its inherent or exhibited natural or cultural value, historical significance, natural or built beauty, offering leisure and amusement. Natural beauty such as beaches, tropical island resorts with coral reefs, hiking and camping in national parks, mountains, deserts and forests, are examples of traditional tourist attractions to spend summer vacations. Other examples of cultural tourist attractions include historical places, monuments, ancient temples, zoos, aquaria, museums and art galleries, botanical gardens, buildings and structures (e.g., castles, libraries, former prisons, skyscrapers, bridges), theme parks and carnivals, living history museums, signs, ethnic enclave communities, historic trains and cultural events. Factory tours, industrial heritage, creative art and crafts workshops are the object of cultural niches like industrial tourism and creative tourism. Many tourist attractions are also landmarks. What places do you recommend to visit in Kazakhstan? Tansel Tercan: I highly recommend visiting Borovoe with its best nature. It is especially nice during wintertime to be there by the lake with a forest view. You can skate on the lake when it freezes. Almaty has lots of theaters, museums, exhibition halls, art galleries and business centers and a wide variety of entertainment complexes including movie theaters, nightclubs, restaurants and cafes. Karaganda has been shaped by its Soviet history. Some of themust-visits here are the GulagMuseuminDolinka, theRegional Central Mosque and theMonument ofMiningGlory. Shymkent is an ancient and fascinating city. Founded in the 12th century, Shymkent used to be a caravanserai alongside the Silk Road. The city was once destroyed by Genghis Khan and his army, and again by various nomadic tribes. Eventually, it was conquered by Russia in 1864, when it became an important trading center. If you go there, try to catch a sight of the Sairammausoleums. The Sauran ancient city ruins are also worth going to. If you are looking for a good market, check out the Aina Bazaar, which has everything fromKazakh music CDs to clothing and random products. Turkistan, TheMausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassavi has a remarkable architectural design, and the mosaic tiles design all the way to the top of the structure astounded me. No wonder many of the faithful visit this revered site. Simply, this is part of an unforgettable visit to Turkistan. It is one of the rare places where man finds himself.
