For instance, thenumber of FEZ in
theUnited States is the largest – roughly 200.
In addition to theoldest and largest FEZ in
NewYork, freeeconomic zones exist inBoston,
Chicago, Cleveland, San Francisco, Seattle and
other cities. Over thepast 30 years, thenumber
of freeeconomic zones around theworld
increased at aparticularlyhighpace.
All Freeeconomic zones (duty-free customs
territories, industrial and trading zones, research
anddevelopment zones, etc.) have certain
things in common–duty-freeor beneficial
modeof import andexport of goods, certain
economic, trading and financial autonomy and
independence from the rest of the territoryof
thehost country, active interactionwith foreign
capital and close tieswith theworldmarket.

about the situationaround the functioningof
freeeconomiczones inUkraine.
– In 2005, political implications
introduced in the issue of FEZ destroyed
this important economic mechanism. Until
the said time, 11 free economic zones and
9 priority development territories operated
in Ukraine. The existing government of
Ukraine, in particular, Prime Minister Victor
Yanukovich, pays special attention to the
