Comingback to the ideaof system
development of the territories, Iwould like to say
that today that resort and recreationcomplexof
Crimeaprovidesonly7%of the income. However,
thereareplenty regions in theworld that develop
primarilyon theaccount of tourismand resorts. A
uniqueexample in this respect is theUnitedArab
Emirates. There is this touristMecca in thedesert.
Whydon’tweborrow thispositive international
experience?Whywouldn’twe tryandconcentrate
all the resources in this competitive situation to
providecivilizeddevelopment of the regionand
let Crimeahold itsplace in theworld industryof
tourismand recreation?
Speakingmore specifically, I thinkCrimea
today reallyneeds amajor expo center. In
this case, in themidseasonwe couldhold
international events: exhibitions, symposia,
conferences and festivalswhileplacing their
participants in thehealth care centers and
sanatoriums that arehardlyused inwinter.
We areprepared tobuildgolf clubs, enclosed
swimmingpools, bicycle tracks and ski tracks.
System approach alsoprovides for a very careful
development of roads and turnpikes.Weneed a
bridgeover Kerchensky strait and a few airports
complyingwith international requirements as
well as a few autobahns along the coast. There
are international standards that say: If a tourist
spendsmore thanhalf anhour traveling from the
airport to the resort, he is not happywith such
typeof travel and resort. Therefore, investing into
Crimeameans not only investing intoquality
resorts andentertainment for our guests, but also
intohigher standards of lifeof the local people.
Sinceancient times, ourpeninsula served
as important crossroadsof theworld trade
andcommercial routes. Today, thisbeneficial
geographic locationhasnot justpreserved its
importancebut even increased it taking into
account theworldeconomyglobalization
tendencies. I believe, this aspect canand shall
become thekey to successful development of the
WestCrimeaproject.Wehavenoother optionsbut
developing thenaturallyexistingopportunities.
