attractive regions inUkraine from
the point of viewof investment.
Andwhat is investment for any
state? It is the driving force of its
economy. It is the investment that
provides opportunities for improvement of life
quality of the people, it works for the regional
development, gives hope for breakthrough into
the future andopens newhorizons. Therefore,
theGovernment of Crimea paysmost serious
attention to the investment policy.
If you askme, theAutonomous Republicof
Crimeawithout as doubt is togo through a real
investment boom in thenext decade. There are
already almost all preconditions inplace for that.
Theonly two things that aremissing, I suppose,
are: lack of political stability in relationships
among certaingovernment agencies and certain
laws onprotectionof internal investments.
However, I am convinced that in thenearest
future thesepainful issueswill be fixed.
Experts estimate today’s potential of the
Autonomous Republic toexceed$300billion.
Traditionally, wedeem tourism and recreation to
be themost promising spheres for investment,
however, we also can seeprospects for successful
development of seaports, roads, airports, light
andprocessing industries, winemaking and
agricultural sector. These arepractically allmajor
branches of Crimeaneconomy. That iswhywhen
they ask us about the things thegovernment
alreadydid and the thingsweplan todo inorder
to create conditions stimulating the inflowof
foreign capital toCrimea, we answer that today
thepeninsula already is in theprocess of shaping
its favorable investment climate. Of course, our
work has just begun in this direction. Though
wehave things tooffer to foreign investors and
we aregoing touseour best efforts tomake
investors feel at home inCrimea and seeus as
reputable andhonest partners.
In turn, we are looking for our own strategy
of sustainabledevelopment of theAutonomous
Republic andwebelieve that it shouldbebased
onmaximumefficiencyutilizationof the regional
capabilities due toour natural andhistorical
conditions. Thepeninsulahas uniquenatural
resources –not onlyon the SouthCoast.
